Ellie Brick

About

Ellie Brick grew up in Llangwm and started her training in ballet with the Cardigan School of Dance at the age of 2 & a half. She went through school whilst ballet, tap and modern dance remained her passion, she was determined to become a dance teacher and one day have her own dance school. After completing her A levels Ellie moved to Cardigan to study full time at the Dance School and qualify as a teacher. She performed in shows and cabarets as well as attending Summer Schools with the National Dance Company of Wales 'Diversions'. Ellie was nominated by an examiner for the IDTA Theatre Dance Awards in 2002 and qualified as a Teacher of Dancing with the International Dance Teachers Association in 2003. She opened her dance school in 2007 teaching across the county and in primary and secondary schools. Ellie now manages employability and training projects for the Local Authority but still dances when she can. She lives in Llangwm with her husband (a fabulous carpenter but less adept dancer) her two young daughters (who both love dancing) and springer spaniel. Ellie strongly believes in the power of dance as a way of expressing yourself, that as well as being good for your strength, core stability, flexibility and fitness it really can make you happy and improve wellbeing. As well as holding a class during the festival Ellie runs a weekly adult dance class at Cleddau Reach VC School during term time to raise money for the friends of the school.
