About
David Hodges is a monk at the Cistercian Abbey on Caldey Island, off the south coast of Wales. Before entering the Abbey, he practised as a Solicitor in Basingstoke, Hampshire, having read Law and Economics at Trinity College, Cambridge. He is the author of eighth poetry collections and has had poetry published in Theology, The Furrow, The Month, Spirituality, Hallel, Mount Carmel, The Merton Journal, The Merton Seasonal, The Tablet, Cistercian Studies Quarterly, Studies, Religious Life Review, Cambria, on BBC Radio and Television, and in anthologies including 'Poems from Pembrokeshire'( Seren 2019). His latest collection of poetry is 'Shelter from the Storm' and reflects the monastic life of prayer in an island setting. Seascapes, the island fora and fauna, the flight of birds, liturgy, memoir and contemporary issues all provide material for the poet's pen.
At this year's festival, Brother David will read from his most recent collection of poetry 'Shelter from the Storm'.
